Fringe...

Charlie Francis

This is merely my opinion, obviously.

RANT!
I had to get this out of my system...

So far, I have been highly disappointed by season 4 of Fringe, the whole first half of the season was devoted to showing how miserable and inept everyone was without Peter.

I am so sick of having anyone not named Peter, Olivia or Walter relegated to the background for the entire episode, having few (if any) lines and doing NOTHING. I still haven’t watched anything from the latest episode except for the ending, I have no desire to watch Peter and Olivia making eyes at each and talking about a relationship she suddenly remembers (wait, what if she had a boyfriend?) for 40 minutes … Don’t get me wrong, I like Peter and Olivia’s relationship, I just don’t want to watch it EVERY SINGLE EPISODE. I don’t know if I want to watch this Friday’s episode either, but since it should be about September and has DRJ in it, I might watch (but the Grimm episode looks pretty freaking cool also!) The Fringe preview shows Liv being kidnapped by DRJ like we saw at the end of last week’s episode, okay, that part looks cool, but what do you want to bet that the people they focus on the most finding Liv are Peter and Walter, probably a few scenes with Lincoln and Broyles interviewing someone and getting nowhere until the golden duo figures out what’s going on. Joy. I quit Castle, The Mentalist, Hawaii 5-0 and considering dropping Once Upon a Time because of the same thing...

We know so much about Peter, Walter and Olivia but it took them three and a half YEARS to even learn a shred about Astrid, Nina has been glaringly absent multiple episodes every season and we still know next to NOTHING about her, we learned more about Charlie in the episode he died in and one following his death then in a whole season, Broyles is divorced and has kids, what else do we know about him? IT SHOULDN’T BE THIS HARD TO DEVELOP OTHER CHARACTERS! COME ON PEOPLE!

But the stars are supposed to get more screen time then everyone else, right? Sure, why not. That doesn’t mean you have to IGNORE everyone else. I would like to mention Criminal Minds, seven seasons and going strong and I have NEVER felt cheated about one characters development compared to another. Every SEASON has had an episode devoted to every character, sometimes multiple episodes. Another reason why Criminal Minds is the best show on TV right now!

Oh, back to Fringe for a moment, where the heck is (alt)Charlie? Surely he can’t be on his honeymoon for half a season (though I don’t blame him for wanting to get away)

Grimm Opening Credits

Charlie & Lincoln

I love Grimm :D It lacks an opening sequence so I thought I'd make one.
I tried for the style like the Charmed or Angel opening credits, with the flashes and focusing on the drawings
(I've never seen Charmed and only a few seasons of Angel but I like both openings) plus the music was just to perfect to pass up :D

"You're gonna be fine"
I'm going to try and tackle my bane of vidding, a slow (instrumental) song...
There's a contest on YT called Words of Music, and you can only use an instrumental song and absolutely no voice-overs. So, instead of choosing a fast, beat-tastic, techno-y song that I've done well vidding in the past, i chose a (some-what) quiet and slow song, it's from the Battle Los Angeles sound track, by Brian Tyler, cause I love his music so much!
I can not for the life of me make an interesting vid with a slow song and no overreaching beat, it just doesn't turn out, so how well this vid will go remains to be seen...

Beautiful Girl

"You're gonna be fine"

I really think this song fits how Peter is feeling during season 4. I really like Peter and Olivia's relationship, but my enjoyment of the show does not rest upon the fact if they share 'looks' at each other at least once an episode... I think the writers have developed their relationship well and is believable. I am not a fan of Peter and so vidding from his POV was difficult but in the end, I think the video turned out quite well, I tried a slightly different style, not hitting all the beats like I normally do, instead following the way the lyrics are sung (but still following some of the beats of course)
Anyways, random talk about the vid and PO done :)

New crossovers!

"You're gonna be fine"
I had a bunch of crossover ideas lately, first was John Reese and Erin Reagan (Person of Interest\Blue Bloods), Lincoln Lee and Jennifer "JJ" Jereau (Fringe\Criminal Minds) and Olivia Dunham and Charles Xavier (Fringe\X-Men First Class)
I've decided to tackle Olivia\Charles first! I was thinking about Charles speech to Erik during their training and started thinking how well that could mesh with Olivia, so, I decided to play with a few scenes.
Title: "There's so much more to you then you know"
Show: Fringe & X-Men First Class Crossover
Song: The Lightning Strike
Artist: Snow Patrol
Focus: Olivia\Charles
Length: Unknown
% Done: Unknown

No coloring yet, haven't decided if i'm going light or dark.

Grimm Video "Disturbia"

"You're gonna be fine"
Well, my first post, I've had this journal for over three years and haven't done a darn thing, but better late then never :)
